Smiths Bush Scenic Reserve

The reserve is located behind Onewa Domain, just off Northcote Road.
The main bush walk entrance is just to the left of the Takapuna Cricket Club clubrooms.

Enter the bush through the gate. The loop path follows an elevated boardwalk for easy walking - please keep to the path to protect the regenerating native plants. The side tracks and alternative entrances are unpaved and mostly gravel.

To follow the loop path, turn left at the first junction. Then at the second junction, turn left again to return to the car park. There is plenty of seating at regular intervals to rest and enjoy the bird song.

This path is a good all-weather outdoor option - the forest canopy provides shade from sun and rain.
